Debuted: Fall Kraken Con 2015
Notes:
I used to play Elsword a ton with some friends. There's so many cute characters and awesome designs, I was so excited to cosplay this. Elesis is an awesome character and the design for this out was definitely going to be a challenge. I used vinyl fabric and heavily altered a corset pattern to create the base of her outfit. I created boots and gloves using the two tutorials I've made on them. I had to then handsew the boot covers onto the tights. I made the belts, cape and all the other black areas of the outfit out of the same fabric. To create the design on her cape (which was trick to find reference photos of), I used fabric puff paint. The sword was fun to make. I create a templated out of a large piece of cardboard (two actually, taped together), then covered both sides in expanding foam. Once that was dried I cut and carved everything and wrapped in in masking tape and paper mache. Once all the prepping and priming was done (aka coating it in wood glue), I spray painted it all red. Whenever I had to spray paint the black areas in, I wrapped the red areas in painter's tape. This was my first time working with resin. I made a mold using some mold-maker I picked up at a local craft store and a polymer clay "gem" I made. After I finished the mold, I poured the resin. I used clear resin and mixed in some chalk pastel for the color. What was made?
Dress. Gloves. Boot covers. Sword. Hair bow. Ankle & wrist pieces. Necklace. Belts. What was bought? Tights. Bikini bottoms. Photographers: Nick O., OscarC Photography, Jeff Cox Freezeaction Photography, JAG Photography, Eric Valverde Fotography, G33k-HQ

WIP PhotosBuild TimeShopping: About half a day + few hours of searching online
Pattern Making: 2 days Sewing: 1-2 weeks Foam Work: 1 week Painting: 2 days **Days are not a full 24 hours. They're more like "work" days. Meaning for each day, I worked on the cosplay for anywhere from 4-10 hours per day--it's all a rough estimate.

Fun Facts!
My First Time on a Boat!
- I had never been on any kind of boat before this convention. So this was a whole new experience! I wanted to go to this con specifically for this reason. I mean, I had heard of this con before and wanted to go but when they announced they would be having their upcoming one on a boat, I had to go. It made such a great location for photos.
- Before this con I had never really taken photos in a cool location. I had done location shoots but they were usually at a park or a nearby, not so pretty, lake. This was my first time having a location available to me that was more unique and interesting.
