Notes:
Li-Ming is definitely one of my favorite heroes to play in Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm. I got her master skin and she's over level 10--which if you play the game, you know it take can take quite a while. She was a fun cosplay to create. I created the jacket using an old patterned I had altered for Popstar Zyra. The skirts where patterned from scratch and the corset was made using a corset patterned I picked up at Joann's. I wanted to create a "3D" effect for all the gold lining. This way it'd have more dimension and look more like her jacket in game. In order to do this, I took craft foam and sprayed it was spray adhesive, then stuck it onto gold fabric. Leaving extra fabric around the edges, I folded that under and then sewed all the gold lining in place. All her armor pieces were made from EVA/craft foam of various thicknesses (from 3mm to 6mm). I primed everything with wood glue to give it some strength and then coated it with spray paint filler+primer. The gold paint is spray paint and the black is acrylics. All the shadowing was done using black oil paint. Everything was topped off with a clear, glossy spray paint. The gems were casted using resin that was colored with chalk pastels. The orbs were made using large, clear (DIY) Christmas ornaments. I used a mix of blue, pink and purple acrylic paints and a sponge to create the galaxy effect and splattered white paint to create the stars. The orb was attached to the wand using gold wire--only because I didn't have clear fishing line at the time. I have a video series on my YouTube that shows the process of making this cosplay! I also have the patterns for a majority of these pieces up on my Storenvy. What was made?
Skirts. Jacket. Corset. Leg & shoe armor. Breastplate. Wand. Crown. Glove & gauntlet. Shoulder pieces. Belt. Orb. What was bought? Nothing! Everything for this costume was made by me. Related Links!
