Raven is one of my all-time favorite characters. I wanted to her when I was little. Teen Titans, of course, was one of my favorite shows growing up! I still really love it. I'm so glad I finally got to cosplay her. I already had this bodysuit for quite some time. I also owned the blue velvet fabric for a long time, as well. It just took me forever before I finally got started working on her. I didn't use any pattern for the cloak. I draped it around me to create the main part, cut out a hood shape (if you wear jackets, sew jackets, you probably have the hood shapes down) and sewed it all together. I use Velcro to attach it at the broach. The broach, belt, etc were all made using the bottom of soda cans. I actually learned this helpful tip from Elizabeth Rose Cosplay. I cut out the bottom of the soda can, carefully, coated the edges with hot glue because they're really sharp otherwise, and then spray painted them gold. The gems were casted from a mix of resin and chalk pastels for color. The boots weren't the best to be honest. I'm was still unsure of what color paint to use for faux leather shoes! I used acrylic this time since I wouldn't be wearing the costume for too long. The only problem I have with that, is it cracks and chips where ever your foot bends (like at the toes). It lasted long enough for photos though and was easy to touch up at the convention. If you have enough fabric, create boot covers instead! What was made?
Belt. Glove pieces. Cape. Boots-altered. What was bought? Bodysuit. Related Links!
